The world is constantly speaking a message that tells us to prove ourselves, earn our worth, and justify our lives. But Jesus speaks a different Word. In this sermon on Matthew 10:40–42, we hear Christ's promise that when his Word is received, Christ himself is received. Through the preaching of the Gospel, Jesus interrupts the world's message with his own declaration of forgiveness, mercy, and belonging. Your identity is not determined by what you accomplish, but by what Christ has spoken over you: You are forgiven. You are his.

His final promise remains true: "I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Pentecost isn't ultimately about dramatic signs or extraordinary experiences—it's about God's Word breaking into the world. In this sermon on Acts 2:1–21, we see how the Holy Spirit comes not to draw attention to the disciples, but to deliver Christ to those who hear. The Spirit interrupts our attempts to earn God's favor and instead brings the good news of forgiveness through Jesus. 5/17/26 To Know And To Be Known
In John 14:15–21, Jesus gives a promise that doesn't depend on your ability to hold onto him—it depends on his promise to hold onto you. Too often, we hear Jesus' words, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments," as a test we have to pass. But what if Jesus isn't giving us a condition for earning his love, but describing what his promise creates? In this sermon, we explore the difference between law and gospel, why the law always exposes our failure, and how Christ fulfills the law on our behalf. Jesus does not leave his people as orphans. He comes to us. He gives us his forgiveness, his Holy Spirit, and his unbreakable promise that we belong to him. From that promise, love and obedience follow—not as the cause of God's love, but as its fruit. No matter how uncertain life becomes, Christ's word remains certain: "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you."
